The Industrial Biofoundry : Genopole

The Genopole Biofoundry is designed to validate the screening of strains (aerobic bacteria and yeasts) and substrates, and to demonstrate the industrial viability of academic and startup projects developing in the fields of bioeconomy and health.

It has the full infrastructure required to ensure scale-up, essential for increasing the TRL of bioengineering projects. It focuses on industrially relevant chassis, such as bacteria and yeasts, and enables bioproduction (USP/DSP) up to 20 liters.

Within the Paris Biofoundry, it supports the development of synthetic biology projects towards the industrial demonstrator stage. Its role as an interface also allows it to facilitate connections and pre-contractual agreements with industrial partners for large-scale bioproduction.
