GATEX : Genopole’s pre-industrial biofoundry
Opening doors to scalable fermentation.
GATEX (Growth And TEst) is a unique infrastructure dedicated to the validation and industrialization of projects in synthetic biology and bioengineering. It supports startups, large industrial groups, and academic researchers in their transition toward viable industrial-scale production, with a focus on:
- High-throughput screening of microbial strains and culture media, including substrate validation;
- Precision fermentation in liquid media across multiple scales (from milliliters up to several tens of liters);
- Demonstration of industrial feasibility through progressive scale-up (USP/DSP) up to the level of a first industrial pilot.
A bridge to industry
GATEX plays a key role within the Paris Biofoundry ecosystem by:
- Supporting synthetic biology projects through to the industrial demonstrator stage;
- Acting as a strategic interface to facilitate connections and pre-contractual agreements with industrial partners, paving the way for large-scale bioproduction.
