The Paris Biofoundry Visits the Concordia Genome Foundry in Montréal

The Paris Biofoundry recently had the pleasure of visiting the Concordia Genome Foundry, based at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada, for two days of scientific exchange and strategic discussions.

This visit provided a valuable opportunity for in-depth dialogue between our respective teams on topics central to the evolution of biofoundries worldwide. Discussions focused on best practices in automation, Design–Build–Test–Learn (DBTL) workflows, robotic integration, data management, and the operational organization of large-scale synthetic biology platforms.

Beyond technical exchanges, the visit included a comprehensive tour of the Concordia Genome Foundry’s facilities, showcasing their advanced infrastructure and technological capabilities. Comparing approaches to automation, standardization, and service delivery enabled both institutions to reflect on shared challenges and identify complementary strengths.

Such interactions are instrumental in fostering closer collaboration between leading biofoundries. By exchanging expertise and aligning strategic visions, we contribute to strengthening the international biofoundry ecosystem and accelerating the development of innovative, scalable solutions in synthetic biology.

The Paris Biofoundry remains committed to building strong international partnerships that enhance interoperability, promote knowledge sharing, and amplify the global impact of engineering biology for science and society.
