The Paris Biofoundry is excited to announce its participation in the Global Biofoundry Alliance (GBA) Summit 2024, which is held from October 10th to 12th in Daejeon, South Korea. This event brings together top experts and leaders in synthetic biology from around the world to foster collaboration, innovation, and the development of cutting-edge bioengineering solutions.
What is the Global Biofoundry Alliance?
The Global Biofoundry Alliance is an international network of biofoundries dedicated to advancing synthetic biology through shared resources, research, and open collaboration. Biofoundries within this network work across diverse areas such as health, industrial biotechnology, and sustainability, tackling challenges like clean energy and environmental restoration.
At this year’s summit, members will have the opportunity to present breakthroughs, discuss strategic collaborations, and explore how biofoundries can further contribute to global innovation.

As a state-of-the-art synthetic biology research platform based in Paris, the Paris Biofoundry plays a pivotal role in the global biofoundry ecosystem. Looking Ahead to GBA 2024
During the GBA 2024 summit, the Paris Biofoundry team will engage in sessions on bioengineering, explore new opportunities for international collaborations, and share their latest research with peers from around the world. The GBA 2024 Program offers a diverse array of sessions, including keynote speeches, technical workshops, and panel discussions on cutting-edge synthetic biology innovations. Today was the opening day which included a welcoming speech by Byung-Kwan Cho, director of the K-Biofoundry, followed by presentations on new biofoundry methodologies and collaborative projects. The summit also covers critical themes like sustainability, healthcare, and industrial biotech, providing a platform for networking and idea exchange.
As is it the first time the Paris Biofoundry attended the GBA summit, it will have the opportunity to introduce itself to the world as part of the keynote speeches of Friday’s program, on october 11th at 12:20 (GMT+9).
